Opinionated, on purpose
You get issues, projects, roadmaps, cycles, and triage—structured just enough to keep teams aligned without drowning them in custom fields. Statuses are clear, workflows are consistent, and housekeeping becomes muscle memory. Its AI helps with summaries and titles, but it’s additive, not a circus act.
Plays well, but not everywhere
GitHub/GitLab, Slack, and SSO integrate cleanly; the API is sane. Automations close loops without turning into Rube Goldberg. Still, if you live for bespoke workflows and compliance theater, Linear will feel tight. That’s the point: focus, not a thousand toggles.
